is that a heavy density hair system means a longer shelf life of the system. This is a myth because the durability of the hair system solely depends on the after-care taken and on the workmanship. Hence, if you choose a heavy density type of hair system then you may end up choosing a system that will be a mismatched one and would give you an unnatural look.
As we offer all varying percentages of hair densities it is important to get this correct. Hair density is basically the amount of hair growing on your head. Hair density is calculated by counting the hairs growing in 1 sq. inch (2.5cm x 2.5cm) area of your scalp. You might have often heard your stylist saying that you have thick hair; by that they mean that your hair density is thick. An average head of a person has approximately 2,200 strands of hair per square inch and has a total of 100,000 hairs. Usually, hair density is classified as thin, medium, and thick. Hair density of a person has nothing to do with the texture of the hair.
Extra Light 50%
It is extra light density. Here when the hair is parted it shows the scalp, making your hair look unreal.
Light to medium – 100%
This hair density is like the above one, when the hair is parted it shows the scalp. But this hair best suits the 65+ women.
Medium – 120%
It is the regular hair density. Nowadays in trend in the wig market.
Medium To Heavy – 150%
This is the normal density ideally suited for women in 20s, 30s, and even 40s.
Heavy – 180%
This density is a too heavy one. It suits the special type of thick wigs.
Extra Heavy – 200%
We do not recommend this density.
Hair densities are trending towards the lighter end.

Age is also a factor determining an effective hair system:
Age is another crucial factor helping you to choose the correct hair density. To be more specific; say you are a young man: then a thicker (medium) type of hair density will suit you best;
an older man would look better in lighter hair density.
Hair Style also plays a vital role in choosing an effective hair density:
Hairstyles contribute in giving your hair a natural and real look. Thick pattern of hair would suit better to a layered hairstyle. You can go for adding bouncy curls to a thin hair density to make it look fuller and thicker.
FAQs
Do you use the same density scale as used by other companies?
No. We all know that all hair system companies use a somewhat similar type of density scale but the scales are not exactly the same. We deal with a wide range of densities ranging from 30 strands of hair per sq.cm to 150 strands of hair per sq.cm, so the 30 is the thinnest density and 150 is the thickest density.
Will the base design get affected by my choice of density?
Surel will is the short answer. If you go for a thin density hair system then we would advise you towards a smooth, invisible lace base to give you a natural look. And if you decide to go with a thick hair density then we would recommend a heavy, thick base. If the hair density is on the lighter side then the base material should definitely be a finer, smoother one. Thus, it is important to keep in mind the hair density you want. while choosing your cap base materials.
After the unit is delivered can I adjust the density?
You can adjust the density post the unit is delivered but we don’t recommend you to do so. When the whole manufacturing process of your hair system is completed there should be no remnants of stubbles in the base, delivering a natural appearance. However, the density can easily be thinned by an experienced professional using thinning shears.
Can the density be different across different parts of the unit?
Yes, the density across different parts of the unit can be different on a custom-made unit, particularly for an older person, it can look more natural to have varying levels of densities.
What density should a man in 60s choose?
We would advise that you go for a hair system of light to medium/light density.
For a female, are the density recommendations different?
No, there is no such rule. But usually, females prefer to have higher hair density compared to men.
Between what density percentages can I order from you?
We offer densities between 80% ( extra light density ) through 140% ( heavy density ) for all hand-knotted custom-made hair systems.
Stock ( premade hair systems ) are made with either 100% (medium-light) density or 120% (medium) density.
Is there any maximum density for full lace or lace front hair systems?
Yes. You can custom order any density with the lace base. But logically, speaking, it is not ideal to order medium to full hair density with lace as you will not be able to see through it. Conventionally, a lace front with medium/light density is used.
If all the densities come in the same price then shouldn’t I be ordering for maximum hair?
Even if choosing a maximum hair density is the same cost, consider this . . .it may not match your own hair or your age and will possibly give you an unnatural and unrealistic look.
I had ordered the same density twice but then why one unit is lighter than the other?
In the same way you can't find two of the same people in the world, not even twins, you cannot find two units exactly the same even if they have the same density. Designing and making a hair system is an art form and the hair system manufacturing process is all knotted by hand - strand by strand, thus, it will most definitely have some differences.
